Mental Health Awareness Week: Small Actions, Lasting Impact
Written by: Julia Trzcinska
This Mental Health Awareness Week we come together to recognise the importance of our mental health and the role we all play in supporting it. Mental Health Awareness Week is more than a moment of reflection, it’s a reminder that mental wellbeing is something we need to nurture every day.

Led by the Mental Health Foundation, this year’s campaign theme “Action” highlights how connection, awareness and practical support can help us build stronger and healthier communities. When we create spaces where people feel seen, heard and supported we all benefit.
At Work for Good, we believe businesses have a powerful role to play in driving that change. By embedding giving into everyday operations and taking “Action”, companies can support charities working on the frontlines of mental health and help fund vital services and make support more accessible.
We’re proud to partner with charities across our network that are creating meaningful impact in this space:
- Mental Health Foundation - the organiser of Mental Health Awareness Week, focusing on preventing poor mental health and building and protecting good mental health.
- Mind – offering essential services, campaigning for change and supporting millions each year.
- Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) – working to prevent suicide and support those in crisis.
- Samaritans - working to reduce the number of people who take their own lives and make sure there is someone here for anyone who is going through a difficult time.
- YoungMinds - making sure every young person gets the mental health support they need, when they need it, no matter what.
- Place2be - leading school-based children's mental health charity aiming to improve children's mental health by providing support at an early age.
- Action for Children - taking action so children don’t miss out on a safe and happy childhood, giving children and young people the protection and practical help they urgently need.
- The Children’s Society - fighting for the hope of young people and creating a society built for all children.
These organisations are making a real difference, but their work relies on continued support beyond a single week of awareness.
A gentle call to action for all of us:
Let this be more than a moment. Whether it’s starting a conversation, checking in on someone, or supporting a mental health charity through your business, small actions can have a lasting impact.
Together, we can help build a future where mental health is prioritised and destigmatised.
