Dementia Action Week: Turning Awareness into Action
Written by: Julia Trzcinska
This Dementia Action Week (18th-24th May), we come together to raise awareness and take action to support people affected by dementia. Led by the Alzheimer's Society, the campaign encourages individuals, communities and businesses to help improve the lives of those living with dementia and those who care for them.

This year’s ‘Forget Me Not Appeal’ highlights the importance of awareness and early diagnosis, with 1 in 3 people in the UK living with dementia currently without a diagnosis. Behind every diagnosis is a person, and access to the right support can make a life-changing difference.
At Work for Good, we believe businesses can play an important role in driving that change. By embedding charitable giving into everyday business, companies can support organisations funding groundbreaking research, providing specialist care and helping people navigate the realities of dementia.
We’re proud to partner with charities across our network making a meaningful impact in this space:
- Alzheimer's Society – leading Dementia Action Week and providing vital support, campaigning and research funding for people affected by dementia.
- Alzheimer's Research UK – funding pioneering research to drive progress towards a cure for dementia.
- Dementia UK – providing specialist dementia support for families through its Admiral Nurses service.
These charities are helping people feel understood, supported and less alone - but their work depends on continued support beyond a single awareness week.
A gentle call to action for all of us:
Whether it’s learning more about dementia or fundraising through your business, small actions can make a lasting difference.
Together, we can help build a future where no one faces dementia alone.
