Small Businesses Donate £2 million To Charity, And Winning 'Escape 100'!
May is turning out to be a momentous, marvellous month for Work for Good, sales fundraising, and purposeful small businesses. We have two pieces of big news that we are excited to share.
Firstly, we are over the moon to announce that UK businesses from sole traders to medium sized enterprises have raised over £2 million for charities through their sales.
- 537 charities have been supported
- By over 1,500 businesses
- Through over 6,000 sales fundraising campaigns
This is an incredible achievement, raised through the hard work and commitment of small businesses who are dedicated to turning their work into good. As well as the charities who have welcomed sales fundraising and the support of UK businesses of all sizes.
Thank you to each and every business that has collectively raised this amazing amount of money and helped to make such a massive difference to charity.
Pop over to our Instagram to see a special message from some of the charities including WWF-UK, Refuge and Cool Earth.
We are thrilled to have been named as a winner of The Escape 100: top purposeful organisations to ‘escape’ to in 2022!
We were chosen from 13,000 nominations and a rigorous application process, now sitting alongside social enterprise giants like Oddbox, OLIO, Too Good To Go & Moving Worlds.
It is an absolute honour to make it on to this list at a time when consumers and job-seekers alike are shifting attention towards more planet-friendly, human, and purpose-led companies.
If you are interested in joining our team or know anyone who might want to 'escape' to Work for Good, we are currently hiring. Pop over to Escape the City to learn more here.
And this isn't the first award our team has received this year. In February, our very own MD Veronica Bamford-Deane was named one of the Top 100 Women in Social Enterprise, created by Pioneers Post in partnership with NatWest Social & Community Capital. We are incredibly proud of Veronica.
If you'd like to learn more about Veronica, catch her chatting to the boys on the Do More Good Podcast about life running a purposeful start-up, surrounding yourself with good people and her passion for the charity sector.
