Think of us as your customer wing man!
Involve your customers when you Work for Good
The philosophy behind Work for Good is that your business will commit to charitable giving as part of your day to day sales of services. By doing so visibly you can inspire and engage others, and your business will benefit at the same time as the causes you’ve chosen to support.
Customer engagement is a core aspect of this. We’ve discussed in previous newsletters that consumers are prepared to switch brands in order to support a specific cause, and many purposefully seek out socially-responsible products.
So we’ve added a new feature that allows you to let your clients choose which charity receives your donation. Not only will they see your generosity and positive social values, but they get to choose the beneficiary. Charity choice is an incredibly personal decision, so involving your clients in this way can be really powerful, may start new conversations and deepen your relationship.
Here’s how it works:
Add a new Work for Good project by going to Account/Dashboard/Work on the website.
Enter your project name (this is for your reference only) along with your customer’s name and email address (please note that this feature is currently open to one customer at a time).
Under ‘supported charity’ you will see the option ‘Let my customer choose any charity’ or ‘Let my customer select any of my chosen charities’ (if you have added a selection of charities to your profile, you may want to encourage your customer to choose from this list).
Your customer will receive an email notifying them that you’d like to involve them in selecting which charity your donation will go to. From this, they can follow a link to either our full list of registered charities or the charities you have added to your profile.
Your customer will then be able to select which charity appeals to them.
Once your customer has chosen, you’ll get a notification to let you know which charity they have selected.
However, if after 7 days your customer has not chosen a charity, you’ll be notified so that you can either contact another customer or choose a charity yourself.
The name of your customer’s chosen charity will now be associated with this piece of work.
Why not try it out for yourself? We’d love to hear what you think!
