Oh don’t be so bloody British!
It’s good to talk about your giving.
Until almost a decade ago I firmly held the opinion that if individuals or businesses talked about the giving they do, then that giving is somehow diminished. How could it be genuine altruism if you are getting recognition or benefit in return? It was also a manifestation of that inherent British modesty.
But I was very wrong and unenlightened. The truth is the exact opposite: you should tell the story about the good you do. By talking about why you give back you will inspire and engage others and so make more good things happen. Tell you customers, tell your staff, tell the world and let them follow your lead. And if they also become more loyal or buy more from you, then so be it!
The Work for Good platform is here to help you do exactly that. Wear the mark with pride, digitally or physically (on your website, business cards, email footers, marketing collateral, client pitches, premises, vehicles and so on), put a profile up our site that links to and from yours and get involved in our community of registered businesses.
It’s time to start sharing your secret!

Thank you for your support!
In our newsletter last week we asked you to load your next Work for Good project in support of the East African humanitarian crisis. We want to extend a huge thank you to those who donated. Plan International UK will receive these donations, plus the total again from Work for Good. Thank you!
