On 10th September 2024, the Work for Good team hosted an exciting webinar entitled 10 Top Tips & Resources for Charities to Maximise Unrestricted Funds. It was extremely well attended with charities of all sizes in attendance.

The webinar was designed to help inspire charities to expand their outreach and engage with businesses. The initial inspiration came in the form of a fantastic case study by Rosy from the Marine Conservations Society who have successfully raised close to £20k via SMEs on Work for Good. Their strategy involved creative outreach to SMEs and they then direct any organisation that's looking to fundraise up to £5k for them, straight to their Work for Good fundraising page to save them time and money on the creation of a legally required, Commercial Participation Agreement.

You can watch the recording in the below link to hear directly from Rosy and learn more of their top tips to boost sales fundraising.

The webinar also provided a comprehensive tool kit for charities to strengthen their outreach efforts and engage businesses, focusing on leveraging LinkedIn, social media platforms, emails, posters and strategic planning around awareness days.

Here's a breakdown of each of the 10 resources covered during the session:

  • Resource 1: LinkedIn Direct Messaging Strategy
  • Resource 2: LinkedIn Post
  • Resource 3: Instagram Post
  • Resource 4: Facebook Post
  • Resource 5: X (formerly Twitter) Post

Each of these resources included pre-written suggested copy, images where required and a selection of top tips to make them as easy as possible for your charity to utilise for outreach asap to help you bring in more funds from SMEs sales fundraising!

Using Your Resources:

  • Once you’ve reviewed the toolkit, you’ll need to plan which channels and resources are most suitable for your charity to use as outreach and schedule in time into your calendar as to when the content will be shared on your various channels.
  • Next, drop us a quick email (hello@workforgood.co.uk) to give us your feedback as we’d love to know which of the resources you found the most relevant and what your outreach plans are to utilise them? Perhaps if you watched the webinar recording, it has sparked some ideas of your own for outreach?

We’re passionate about helping to support your charity in gaining more fundraising SME’s, so we hope the resources and information we’ve shared in the webinar help you to achieve this.
