Turning personal loss into meaningful impact through business
For many businesses, charitable giving starts with a personal story.
For Kin Knives, supporting My Name’5 Doddie Foundation is deeply personal. After losing her father to MND in 2020, donating to a MND charity was something that Harriet Hayward-Reeve always wanted to do, but finding the right and legally compliant way to do it was a challenge.
That changed after a recommendation from a friend introduced her to Work for Good.
“When a friend recommended Work for Good I was thrilled. The setup was so easy and stress-free. I was able to start donating immediately.”
Through the business, Kin Knives have donated 1% of every sale since July of 2020 to My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, helping to fund vital research into MND and support those affected by this cruel disease.
What’s been particularly powerful is how customers have responded. By openly naming the charity in sales promotions and sharing the partnership across their website and social media, they’ve seen strong engagement and encouragement from their community.
“We get a lot of comments saying how great it is that we donate from each sale. A lot of people like to buy from us knowing they are supporting the charity.”
Beyond fundraising, the partnership has also created a genuine sense of connection.
“I do feel connected and appreciated. The My Name’5 Doddie team is great.”
For Kin Knives, Work for Good removed the legal and administrative barriers that often stop good intentions from becoming action - allowing them to honour a loved one’s memory while making a real, measurable impact through everyday sales.
“If you have the opportunity to donate, I can’t recommend Work for Good highly enough.”
