A great place to promote your enthusiasm for small business giving is via your website, so feel free to utilise the copy templates and infographic below, to upload to your site.

Remember to lead by example and showcase any small businesses who are already supporting you, to help encourage others to follow (see how Make-A-Wish have done this).

Choose the template version that best suits your site and ensure the tone fits with the rest of your website branding. The URL for your charity profile page, can be found on your dashboard, via the ‘view your profile’ link.

WEBSITE GUIDE

You’ve used the website copy templates and have your content ready to go, but there’s one more thing to consider...the perfect location!

Decide amongst your team where your copy would be best placed on your website:

  • Do you have a page already dedicated to business supporters? Be mindful that small businesses don’t often think of themselves as corporates, so they may not look on corporate-specific pages when looking for ways they can support your charity. Therefore, it’s worth considering adding specific ‘small business’ terminology to your site, for your supporters to resonate with.
  • Being part of Work for Good offers your supporters another way to help raise vital funds for your charity. Do you have a ‘get involved’ page or a list of fundraising options on your website? If so, make sure you include a direct call to action, linked to your charity profile page, for small businesses who want to support you through their sales.
  • Consider your supporter user journey and experience. Is it clear where they would need to click in order to find out how they can support you? How easy is that journey for them and how quickly will they be able to get to the information they’re looking for? Remember, small business owners are often time-poor; so it’s important to maximise their good intentions once they’ve arrived on your site.

Once you’ve decided on your perfect page, you can get uploading! Don’t forget: you can use our website infographic and the Work for Good logo to make your copy more visual and help increase user engagement.
