FOR INCOMING ENQUIRIES

With 5.8 million small businesses in the UK, the potential for their giving is huge. We want to support you to be able to gladly receive and embrace these donations, in an efficient and sustainable way that works for you, your team and your business supporters.

So whether you’re time-poor, restricted by minimum donation thresholds or concerned about start-ups; we’re here to assist with your small business supporters; to enable you to say “YES!” to lower value sales-related donations.

We’ve put together two email template examples for you to use, when responding to incoming enquiries from small businesses looking to support you through their sales.

Please do use the below to help you steward these supporters through your Work for Good page and feel free to align this to your charity’s brand tone of voice. The URL for your charity profile page, can be found on your dashboard, via the ‘view your profile’ link

TEMPLATE 1 (SHORTER VERSION):

Dear xx,

Thank you so much for getting in touch. We’re delighted to hear from you and very grateful that you’d like to support (INSERT CHARITY NAME) through your business.

We would love to accept your kind offer of support and would ask you to pledge your donation through our Work for Good page here: (INSERT CHARITY PROFILE PAGE URL). This is a simple, easy and legal way for your business to donate to us through your sales and help us to keep track of your wonderful support!

To support us through your sales, you must have a Commercial Participation Agreement set up, which is created through the Work for Good donations form. You’ll then have the right agreement in place to be able to market your giving, and you’ll be able to proudly publicise your support for (INSERT CHARITY NAME) in plain text; alongside the Work for Good logo.

The platform also enables you to give in a way that works for your business model; so you can choose the amount and frequency of your donations. With no minimum (or maximum!) amount, it encourages flexible fundraising for you as a small business to give as you grow.

It’s important to us that your business can give in a way that works for you; so with Work for Good, you’ll be given the opportunity to choose a percentage or fixed amount to donate at intervals to suit your business. With no minimum (or maximum!) donation amount, it enables flexible fundraising for you as a small business to give as you grow.
