About us

Zimkids supports families disadvantaged by illness, death, trauma and living in extreme circumstances in Zimbabwe. Our family-centered, community-based approach means we are able to provide comprehensive support for orphans and vulnerable families in three high-density townships across Zimbabwe.

For over a decade the nation of Zimbabwe has been on an economic down turn that seems to be continuing to spiral down with no tangible hope for a turnaround. Our heart is to empower vulnerable families who have been severely affected by the perpetual economic crisis in our nation. Our projects create employment opportunities, increase household incomes for vulnerable families, provide education, give hope, purpose and a sense of dignity to a people otherwise shunned by society.

The tools our project uses to break the cycle of poverty are Self-sufficiency, Education and Life Skills programmes.

Our goal in Self- sufficiency is to facilitate training and create opportunities for vulnerable families to improve the degree of their self-sufficiency.

Our goal in Education is to impact vulnerable young people in the development of their learning and give them opportunities for further education, vocational training and eventually employment.

Our goal in Life skills is to empower and to nurture the spiritual, mental, emotional, physical, social and relational development of our families in their greatest time of need.
