The Yard

The Yard runs adventure play services for disabled children and young people aged 0-25 years. Annually we support over 1,000 disabled children and their families across Edinburgh, Fife and Dundee. We run youth clubs, family play sessions, an early year's service and work with local special schools.

About us

The Yard was established in 1986 as a purpose built play centre for disabled children and young people. Since then we have grown to support more families and now run weekend services in Fife and Dundee, working with children aged 0-25 years. The Yard is a place where children and families can truly be themselves and our ethos of child-centred play still guides everything we do, and we create new adventures with children and young people every day. We continue to strive towards our vision of a safe place to play for all disabled children in Scotland and providing a 'home from home' for their families.
