Wow - we've received our 400th bike donation!

It's incredible. Over the last year we've received 400 donated bikes for us to refurbish for our community projects. This is amazing. These previously unloved bikes will be made road-ready by our incredible team of volunteers before the bikes move onto their permanent home in our Bike Library or with a member of our community who needs support in getting around.

Thanks to everyone for your generosity. You're changing lives, one bike at a time.

(not to mention all the incredible benefits of recycling these bikes! Amazing.)

About us

Our wonderful charity has been around since 2001 and since then we've taught over 35,000 how to cycle! We believe there should be no barriers to independence and green forms of transport and so we provide cycle support sessions, walking support and workshops to all abilities of learner, improver and expert! From cycle support for visually impaired and blind cyclists, through to road safety training for professional cyclists - we want to reduce car reliance and get people moving independently.

Our support is wide ranging and includes helping vulnerable adults who have been shielding and isolating during COVID, who now need support to regain confidence to walk around their communities independently.

We help the 1 in 4 households in our region who are living in transport poverty - and have a wide range of self funded support activities such as our Bike Library providing individuals and families with free loan bikes, our Bike Aid project which has refurbished over 550 bikes which were donated to us by our communities - these are then given to keyworkers to help them to continue to travel around their workplaces and communities.

We support so many people in different ways, reducing the barriers that are created by physical, financial and social inequalities - reducing car independence, improving health and reducing air pollution!

Our work creates a happier, healthier, cleaner world and we support around 10,000 each year in reducing their car reliance.
