About us
We are a parent led group created for parent/carers living with a child with special educational needs and disabilities based in the North East of England. We have set up a local community group where we offer weekly support groups, holiday play groups, parties and a Facebook group for communications, sharing information and product finds and hacks. Giving families a safe place to discuss their child, ask questions and enable families living outside of our local area an opportunity to still connect with other families in similar situations. During the school holidays we host play and craft days for our families, to give them somewhere safe and accessible to go and explore the world around them and hopefully enable some form of socialisation with other families in a similar situation and allow siblings to interact with other siblings – again going through the similar journey. We host parties throughout the year, simply because children like ours don’t get invited to birthday parties or celebrations, so we are determined to throw parties in their honour to give them an experience every child deserves.
