The Fox Project - Southern Wildlife Ambulance Network

Founded in 1991 as a specialist Wildlife Information Bureau and Fox Deterrence Consultancy, we expanded in 1993 to include a fully operational Wildlife Hospital. Our dedicated wildlife ambulance network runs from 9am to 9pm, seven days a week, 365 days a year—providing critical care and treatment to over 1,400 foxes annually, including more than 450 cubs.

About us

We are the only charity exclusively dedicated to the Red Fox, responding to over 30,000 wildlife-related incidents each year.

Our Wildlife Ambulance Service covers a vast 60 x 70 mile area, spanning parts of Kent, Surrey, East and West Sussex, and South East London. We respond to sick and injured foxes, abandoned cubs, and collaborate with a dedicated team of local volunteer rescuers, fosterers, and rehabilitators to ensure their care, treatment, and successful rehabilitation back into the wild.

The Wildlife Information Bureau regularly provides expert advice to national and local governments, as well as media outlets, and offers comprehensive guidance to the public on all aspects of the Red Fox.

Our Fox Deterrence Consultancy offers practical, humane, and non-lethal solutions for resolving conflicts with urban foxes. We also work closely with professional consultancies that share our ethical commitment, ensuring our methods exclude both destruction and relocation.
