About us
The Forever Friends Appeal is the main charity at the Royal United Hospital (RUH) in Bath. Our work touches the lives of over 500,000 residents in the RUH catchment area, as well as the friends and family who visit them and the dedicated NHS staff who care for them. We fund state of the art equipment, research and innovations to create a welcoming, positive environment for everyone from Bath and the surrounding areas in South Gloucestershire, West Wiltshire and North East Somerset. We fundraise for projects that go above and beyond what is possible in the NHS setting.
The Appeal has two major fundraising campaigns: • Cancer Centre – raising nearly £10million towards building a pioneering new cancer centre • RNHRD & Therapies Centre – raising £2million towards creating a special and unique building dedicated to Therapies and Rheumatological conditions
We are also working on Special Appeals within our Wards and Departments, including: • Facial Surgery and Orthodontics Unit – creating a ‘Centre of Excellence’ for conditions of the head and neck, including cancer in a new purposed designed environment • Critical Care Unit – purchasing Patient Care Service Columns that will dramatically enhance patient care in a time critical environment • Breast Unit – refurbishing the current Breast Unit to improve the care of patients and enhance the Survivorship Programme • Friendly Faces - working in partnership with The Alzheimer’s Society, Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership and Research Institute for Care of the Elderly (RICE) to recruit volunteers to provide companionship to elderly patients with dementia.
We fundraise to improve the level of care and treatment possible throughout the entire hospital. In addition to our major capital appeals, you are welcome to fundraise for any area of the hospital that you would like to thank.
