Three Peaks Challenge is GO!
Have you ever considered climbing three mountains in 24hours? No? Why would you, it’s a crazy idea!
But that’s just what four of our incredible St Michael’s staff are doing in 2024 to raise vital funds for the PTFA. Mr Byrne (6.1 class teacher), Mrs Roach (3.2 class teacher), Mr Symmons (Forest school leader) and Mrs Paines (teaching assistant and PTFA Vice Chair) are planning to take part in the National Three Peaks Challenge. During May half term they will be travelling to Fort William in Scotland to start their adventure. Starting the clock at the bottom of Ben Nevis they will hike up and down the tallest peak in the UK (1345m) before jumping in a minibus and driving to the Lake District to attempt Scafell Pike. At 978m high it is the tallest mountain in England and is the most challenging of the climbs. After successfully scaling their second peak they will drive to Wales and complete the challenge by climbing Snowdon which, at 1085m, is the tallest mountain in Wales. And all this in just 24 hours! They have already started training and you can follow their progress on their dedicated Facebook.
Support the team!
How can you support the team as they prepare for this feat of endurance? Please donate via go fund me or make a donation on PTA events and share the link with your family and friends. If you are a local business owner and would like to sponsor the event and have your company name on advertising and promotions related to the challenge, this would also be a huge help. We are also hoping to borrow a minibus for the challenge – if you think you can help with this, we’d love to hear from you.
