About us

Sound Seekers is a UK registered charity, established in 1959. We are a small team of five based in London.

Sound Seekers delivers practical solutions to support people with hearing loss to realise their rights by enabling access to healthcare and education. We currently work in Malawi, Zambia, The Gambia, Cameroon and Sierra Leone. The World Health Organization estimates that globally there are 466 million people with hearing loss. Two thirds of those live in developing countries where access to healthcare and audiology services are usually limited or non-existent.

We work in partnership with major hospitals and health service providers to improve the prevention, identification and management of hearing loss; with schools to improve the quality of, and access to, education for children with hearing loss; and with communities and wider stakeholders to raise awareness of hearing loss and to advocate for equal opportunities for people with hearing loss.

Our vision is an inclusive world where people with hearing loss have equal opportunities.
