Pratham UK

Pratham address gaps in the Indian education system. We worked with the 2019 Economics Nobel Laurates to develop a programme that teaches children to read and write in 30 days. We offer a ‘second chance’ scheme for women who dropped out of school to complete their end of school exams and a vocational training programme with outstanding results.

About us

Pratham specialises in low cost, measurable and replicable educational programmes across 21 of Indian’s 29 states. Across our programmes that range from preschool to vocational education we have developed a strong educational technology programme which came into it’s own during lockdown when more than a million Indian children were receiving our content through partnerships with other NGOs and State Governments. This digital work means we have a number of remote digital volunteering opportunities available for our partners. Some are highly skilled and focus on developing our digital learning and assessment platforms, including artificial intelligence products, and hackathons. Whilst we can provide training for volunteers working in other areas, such as for developing data sets that feed into some of these education technology platforms and virtual mentoring of young adults who are volunteering to deliver our programmes in India.
