Make-A-Wish UK exists to grant life-changing wishes for critically ill children and their families when they need them most.
Right now, more than 134,000 children across the UK are living with the gruelling daily reality of a critical illness. When it comes to their dreams, they deserve to wish for more than a life defined by hospitals, treatments, and uncertainty.
When a child is diagnosed with a critical illness, their world can change overnight. The playground is replaced by a hospital ward. Time spent with friends is interrupted by appointments and treatments. The joy and freedom of childhood can be overshadowed by fear and anxiety.
But a wish has the power to change that.
A wish gives a child something positive to focus on. It allows them to dream big, create precious memories, and experience moments of joy with the people they love, no matter what they are going through.
Make-A-Wish UK works with medical professionals, volunteers, and supporters to make every child’s magical wish come true. Whether it's meeting their idol, becoming a superhero for the day, enjoying a dream holiday, transforming their bedroom, or receiving a longed-for gaming console, every wish is uniquely tailored to the child.
As demand for wishes continues to grow, more families are facing the heartbreaking reality of waiting longer for their child's wish. For some children, there simply isn't time to wait.
