We are a team of volunteer, trained money advisers who offer free, confidential and face to face advice to anyone who is experiencing problems with managing their money. We are affiliated to Community Money Advice which supports almost 150 centres like ours countrywide. We are fully insured to give debt advice and our work is regulated by the FCA.

Launceston Money Advice Centre's Big Breakfast

Launceston Money Advice Centre (LMAC) held a successful fund raising Big Breakfast in October in partnership with the Church of Christ the Cornerstone, Tregadillett. With the support of the Launceston Foodbank, Martins Cash and Carry, Trethorne Leisure Farm and Philip Warren, more then 80 people enjoyed a 'full English' and despite the terrible weather - more than £400 was raised.

LMAC is totally dependent on voluntary donations and its own fundraising and we thank everyone who has helped and is continuing to support us in our much needed work.

About us

DEBT - How can you cope with it? Launceston is located in one of the poorest parts of both Cornwall and the country with limited opportunities for employment advancement, poor public transport, higher utility costs due to the damp climate and as a result, more and more people are falling into debt.

Being in debt can be a frightening experience and many people try and ignore their money problems.

It is a big step asking for help but many people feel a sense of relief to talk to someone about their debts and more importantly, someone who will not judge them.

We are here to help them take the first step and are able to give free, confidential advice.

We can help if you are having problems with budgeting but do not have debts that you are worried about and we are also able to give advice about welfare benefits.

In the past year - we have seen almost 80 new clients and have helped many move into a space free from debt - somewhere where they are confident to manage their money and are not worried about letters arriving and bailiffs knocking at the door.
