About us
Life is a journey and the ending matters. Everyone should receive the best possible care at the end of their life.
Currently, one in four UK families can’t get the care they need and deserve when their loved one is dying. This needs to change.
Hospice UK is the national charity for hospice care. We exist to make sure that everyone facing dying, death and bereavement gets the care and support they need. We work with the UK governments, the NHS and our 200+ local hospice members to ensure hospices can survive and thrive in these challenging financial times, and to continue to provide care for more than 300,000 children, babies and adults. We strive to make sure that compassionate, free hospice care will be there for families now, and long into the future.
We do this by delivering training programmes, offering grant schemes, sharing knowledge and best practice, running communication campaigns, lobbying UK governments and providing direct information and support for the public.
It takes £3 million every single day to keep our hospices open; two-thirds of this comes from people like your employees generously donating or fundraising in their communities. With your support, we can get closer to our vision where everyone at the end of their life can receive the care, compassion, and comfort they need to die with dignity.
