HIEF works with community-led, grassroots organisations & local communities to support projects in freshwater, marine & coastal, forest & woodland & montane habitats. Collating & maximising philanthropic funds from people & organisations, HIEF awards grants & provides additional support, if required, to test & develop best practice solutions to create systemic, grassroots-driven change for sustained positive environmental impact. Since awarding the first grants in October 2020, HIEF has established a positive track record of supporting a broad portfolio of community-led projects - see hief.scot/grants
