Heswall Thank You
Thank you to everyone who volunteered and supported our camp in Wirral this August.
We were able to support 25 disabled children with a residential camp filled with incredible activities which they have been unable to enjoy and many for the first time ever!
Our superhero theme included water fights, climbing, archery and shooting. We also had sensory time, tractor rides in the woods, and music therapy. It was a wonderful week for everyone involved and a rare chance to recharge batteries for many families and carers.
Every place was free for each child and places were based on our ability to support their care needs. We provided training for volunteers, accessibility equipment and detailed care plans so parents could be confident in the care we were providing.
Meet Ireland
Some feedback from one of our fantastic campers, Ireland.
A wonderful young lady who just needed a little support to be able to achieve all the activities she wanted.
Following time at our camp in Wirral Ireland has developed a greater sense of confidence and independence which has lead her to enjoying more activities. It also meant her mum had a week long break and has the confidence to encourage Ireland to do more.
Our first camp in the South West
Thank you to everyone who supported our new project in Somerset.
Barton Camp in Winscombe was a wonderful venue and our volunteers were delighted to support 22 disabled children with a residential camp filled with fun and happiness. It was the perfect tonic this summer for the children, volunteers and of course the parents and carers after all we have bene through.
A place at our camps is completely free and based solely on our ability to meet the care needs of the child. So we supported a huge range of disabilities and learnt a great deal in introducing them to new sports, crafts and even using a waterslide for the first time!
