About us
Five percent of Gloucestershire households are members of GWT, one of the highest membership penetration rates of all The Wildlife Trusts in the United Kingdom, and we have over 500 active volunteers who help us conserve wildlife from practical work on one of our 60 nature reserves to helping with admin in the office.
The impacts of climate change, shrinking natural resources, a tough economic climate, and most of all the continuing depletion of our habitats and the wildlife they contain in the county are just some of the issues that affect the way we work.
We want our plans to respond to the challenges facing us and make the most of new opportunities as they arise. We're lucky to enjoy a landscape still rich in wildlife, and our plans recognise that it is also an environment that keeps us happy, healthy and well, and that attracts many visitors to our county.
