About us

Britain is hungry. Having access to food is a basic human right and yet 8.4 million people in the UK are struggling to afford to eat. Food poverty affects not only the health and wellbeing of an individual but is also a barrier to personal development. In the UK, 1 in 10 people including 1 in 4 children skip meals regularly, whilst 3.6 million tonnes of food is wasted by the food industry every year.

FareShare Midlands turns an environmental problem into a social solution. We supply good quality surplus food to local communities who tackle hunger and poverty and the root causes of both.

FareShare Midlands food provides a lifeline to vulnerable men, women and children at charities and community groups across the Midlands every week. We strengthen communities by increasing food security.

We urgently need your help to deliver healthy, nutritious food to local food banks, community cafes and larders, hostels and luncheon clubs, activity schemes and schools – all supporting the Midlands’ most vulnerable people.

Your business can make a huge difference to the lives of people living in poverty in the midlands. Every pound raised will help provide four nutritious meals to people living in food poverty in the Midlands.

£200 could provide 800 lunches for children at a school holiday club

£500 could provide 2,000 meals at a day centre supporting elderly people and tackling isolation and loneliness

£1,000 could provide 4,000 nutritious meals for people experiencing homelessness

With your support we can fight hunger and tackle food waste.
