Your business can help families like James' put food on the table
Please can your business help struggling families feed themselves through the cost of living crisis?
“Everything’s going up – food, taxes, heating – and I’m really worried about what it’ll be like in winter.”
James Henman, beneficiary of FareShare Midlands' food
We know that most people are feeling the squeeze right now. But for the poorest and most vulnerable in our communities, the situation is becoming critical. Terrible choices have to be made - whether to pay bills, fill up the car or keep the fridge full. At FareShare Midlands, we are already seeing a big increase in demand for food across the Midlands from charities and community groups including community centres, homeless shelters and children’s breakfast and school holiday clubs.
Over the coming months, we face a big challenge to keep more and more hungry mouths fed. While we are working hard to meet this demand, we need local Midlands' businesses to help to ensure we can feed hungry families and support our communities at a time of real crisis.
With your business' support, we will support the growing number of vulnerable people, and redistribute even more good-to-eat surplus food which would otherwise go to waste.
By partnering with FareShare Midlands, you will provide much needed support to our communities through the biggest fall in living standards since the 1950s.
James from Chesterfield knows just what it’s like to be seriously worried about putting nutritious food on the table for his kids. James was granted sole custody of the two girls and two boys - all under 10 years of age - in 2018, and this family unit has been through some hard times so far – but James knows it’s going to get even harder moneywise.
“But becoming a single dad almost overnight is something you don’t get taught how to do properly, and I couldn’t have made it so far without the help of Gussie’s Kitchen.” Gussie's Kitchen is one of over 500 community-based organisations using food provided by FareShare Midlands to support vulnerable people in the midlands.
Nobody should have to choose between paying a bill and feeding themselves or their children, and with your support, people won’t have to. Together with Fareshare Midlands, your business can make a real difference. Please sign up to support us today via Work For Good and we will be in touch, or email Poppy.gilbert@faresharemidlands.org.uk to discuss how you can support us.
