FARA Foundation

FARA is a UK charity that exists to transform the lives of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged people living in Romania. These include children living in poverty and their families, teenagers and young people at risk, and children and adults with disabilities. We work with a dedicated partner charity and local people in Romania to make this happen.

About us

In the poorest communities where we work, many children are waking up hungry and going to bed hungry, they’re living with problems no child should ever have to face and have no chance of completing their education without additional support. We need to provide family support packages, hot daily meals, shoes and clothes, books and pens, homework sessions, holiday clubs, family counselling, healthcare checks . . . . the list goes on and on.

It's vital we help vulnerable teenagers and young people with food packages, hygiene kits, travel allowances, rental grants and all the assistance they need to live independently. We must also provide the support they require to succeed, such as help to live healthily, cook, manage a budget, use a computer . . . and so much more.

And we have to give a voice to children and adults with disabilities, and instigate change, through our specialist therapy centres and assisted-living programme, which pave the way for a future where everyone with a disability is valued and can live a more independent life.

With your support now, all of this is possible.

🍲 £10 could provide a child with a hot meal at school, which will fill their empty tummy so they can play, learn and thrive.

🧼 £25 could go towards supplying a teenage girl, who is leaving the care system, with an essential hygiene kit and the support she needs to look after herself and feel good.

🗣️ £50 could help cover the cost of a therapy session, such as speech therapy, for a child with a disability, which could be the first step towards being able to attend school.
