Exciting News: FAVOR UK Joins 'Work for Good' & Highlights Recent Events

We are thrilled to announce that FAVOR UK (Faces and Voices of Recovery UK) has officially joined the platform, Work for Good! This partnership will enable businesses and individuals to easily support our cause through donations linked to their sales and services. By using the Work for Good platform, we can further our mission to advocate for individuals and families affected by alcohol and other drugs while removing barriers to equitable treatment options.

What We’ve Been Up To

It has been an incredibly busy and rewarding time for FAVOR UK. Here are some highlights of our recent activities:

UK Recovery Walk & Festival 2024: Our annual Recovery Walk is one of the most anticipated events of the year, and this year, it took place in London on September 13-14, 2024! This annual event brings together thousands of people to celebrate recovery and challenge the stigma surrounding addiction. Alongside the walk, the festival will include performances, peer support groups, and an opportunity to connect with fellow advocates.

UK Recovery Conference: In addition to the walk, we also held our annual conference in London too that featured three professors and a Dame among the speakers. This 2 day festival serves as a beacon of hope, bringing communities together in solidarity and support for those on their recovery journey.

Advocacy and Support Initiatives: We continue to advocate for the rights of people in recovery. Our advocacy case worker team has been working tirelessly to help individuals access life-saving treatment, including residential rehabilitation and housing support. We've also been tackling issues within the benefits system and promoting human rights for those in recovery.

Five Key Achievements:

Expanding Our Reach: We've grown to work in 25 local areas across Scotland, helping more individuals access the recovery support they need. We eat to provide that case worker service in the rest of the UK and we need your help to do so.

Advocating for Residential Rehab: Over the last three years, we have many individuals pursue access to residential rehabilitation, with many successfully admitted to life-changing programs.

Partnering with Other Organisations: We’ve developed strong partnerships with key organisations, including Shelter UK, local authorities, health boards  and various treatment charities & peer support groups, helping to offer comprehensive support to our clients.

Bringing Advocacy to Communities: Through pop-up advocacy events at recovery cafes across Scotland, we’ve been able to reach vulnerable communities who might otherwise not have access to our services.

Looking Ahead

We are committed to growing our services across the UK, and through the Work for Good platform, we hope to expand our advocacy efforts even further. Towards the end of 2024 , we are excited to launch our volunteer project, which will allow us to welcome advocacy and support volunteers into our team. This evolution will increase our capacity and help more people who are suffering through addiction.

Thank you for your continued support! Stay tuned for more updates on how you can get involved and help us make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals in recovery.

By joining Work for Good and continuing our impactful advocacy and events, FAVOR UK is ensuring that recovery is visible, celebrated, and supported across communities. We look forward to growing our reach and continuing our fight for those in need
