About us

Emmaus is a homeless charity based in Hertfordshire that supports and accommodates 39 formerly homeless individuals and supports them in to employment and private rented accommodation through support, training and work. We have a social enterprise which sells second hand furniture and provides meaningful work and training for our 41 residents. We take homeless referrals from all over the UK and there is no fixed length of stay, therefore our residents get the best support for as long as they need in order to move on from homelessness. Our charity supports and accommodates people who have experienced homelessness due to their mental health, drug and alcohol addictions, offending history, learning disabilities, sexual abuse and domestic violence or bereavement. Our referral criteria is anyone experiencing homelessness, aged over the age of 18 and with no dependant children. No matter what the individual's issues, that have led to them becoming homeless, our charity works hard to provide residents with the very best support and meaningful employment and training to support them to move on positively, and back into the community.
