White Peak Distillery in Wild Spirit!
White Peak Distillery’s has produced a limited edition Riverside Gin. This very special gin is flavoured with wild growing botanicals and each sale supports Derbyshire Wildlife Trust.
Just 442 bottles of the single batch distillation of Riverside Gin has been produced. It is distilled with plants hand foraged from nature reserves along the River Derwent and found growing near the Distillery. Botanicals include water mint, red clover, meadowsweet, wood sorrel and seeds from the invasive Himalayan balsam have been used along with more traditional gin ingredients including juniper, liquorice and fresh lime zest.
The first batch of Riverside Gin was distilled in 2019, after months of experimenting with plants and herbs. The winning recipe has been used to create this new batch of limited edition gin.
Max Vaughan, founder of White Peak Distillery said “After the popularity of our Riverside Gin recipe back in 2019, we’re delighted to have created another batch to be able to support the Derbyshire Wildlife Trust again. Hand foraging the botanicals in our beautiful local area reminds us to appreciate the flavours that nature has to offer in our back yard. Riverside Gin is unique both in terms of how it was created and how it tastes. It has a fresh minty flavour from the water mint, which is balanced with the creamy notes from the Himalayan balsam”.
Joanne Carnell Marketing Manager at Derbyshire Wildlife Trust said “We are delighted that Riverside Gin is on sale again and thank White Peak Distillery for their spirited support for wild places. The Rivers Team enjoyed working with them to create this special blend, foraging on our reserves along the River Derwent to find just the right herbs, which grow abundantly and often need keeping in check. This is a wonderful gin with a very special local flavour which you can enjoy knowing it’s been produced locally, hand in hand with nature.”
£3 from each bottle will be donated to the Trust.
