Crisis is the national charity for homeless people. We are committed to ending homelessness. Every day we see the devastating impact homelessness has on people’s lives. Every year we work side by side with thousands of homeless people, from our 11 Skylight centres and in local communities, to help them rebuild their lives and leave homelessness behind for good.

About us

We support thousands of people to leave homelessness behind for good every year. We help people to find a permanent place to live and then to get the tools they need to stay there, including support to gain new skills, find a job, or improve their health & wellbeing.

We believe that homelessness can and must be ended, that’s why we also campaign for the changes needed to solve it. We must have enough housing, particularly social housing, to make sure everyone has a place to call home. We must have a strong welfare system in place to stop people from falling through the cracks. Losing your job, fleeing domestic violence, losing your partner, etc. shouldn’t mean losing your home.

The security of a home is where we all build our dreams for the future, but we are not protecting this basic human need for 170,000 families and individuals across the UK who are stuck in crowded unsafe places, hostels, sleeping on people’s sofas, or even on the streets.

Homelessness is not inevitable. With collective action and political will, we can solve homelessness once and for all.
