Coeliac UK is the charity for people with coeliac disease and those who need to live gluten free. For over 50 years we have been the experts in the gluten free diet. We provide trustworthy, independent information and support, fund critical research and work with healthcare professionals and the food industry to ensure that no-one's life is limited by gluten.

About us

Coeliac UK has been around for over 50 years supporting all those with coeliac disease, a common autoimmune disease suffered by 1 in 100 people. The only treatment is a strict gluten free diet for life and understanding and following the diet is not easy.

So we're here to provide independent information, a community that understands and transformational support. Our services are used by over 100,000 people every year making us a key advocate and campaigning voice so that no life need be limited by gluten.

We also work closely with healthcare professionals to provide training and patient insight; and we support the food industry, running food safety schemes to bring our expertise in gluten free to a highly regulated sector.

Not only this, but we are also the largest funder of research into coeliac disease in the UK, supporting all types of research to increase diagnosis, improve care and support, and, ultimately, find a cure.
