Carers Worldwide

Carers Worldwide partners with local organisations in low- and middle-income countries to provide support for unpaid family carers looking after relatives with a disability or with long term or age related health conditions. We also work with local governments to promote long term policy change so that all carers wherever they live are recognised and valued.

About us

There is no support for unpaid family carers in low- and middle-income countries. Carers Worldwide is working to change that.

Founded in 2012, UK based charity, Carers Worldwide, supports unpaid family carers who are often stigmatised, isolated and overlooked. Currently working in India, Nepal and Bangladesh, we are changing attitudes and promoting recognition and support for unpaid carers, empowering them towards better health, wellbeing and economic security.

Caring can adversely affect the economic, social, mental and physical wellbeing of carers. We implement our Carers Worldwide Model by working with local charity partners who share our vision of a world in which every carer is valued and their needs are met.

Our model comprises five core elements which together transform the holistic wellbeing of unpaid carers: carer support groups; health services; employment, training and education; advocacy; and respite and short breaks. Our mission is to achieve recognition of the role of family carers and to transform the lives of carers, their families and their communities.
