About us
Our expert services focus on empowering the most vulnerable in our community. People facing: - Poverty - Chronic and acute mental and physical health conditions - Barriers to integration, equality and opportunity - Social isolation and loneliness - Need for regular day care resulting from neurodiversity or / and physical disabilities
Our services are designed to meet both urgent need and enable long-term change. Someone using the foodbank we host weekly may need support to learn to cook healthy meals on a tight budget or with limited ingredients: accessing a course through our Integrated Health & Wellbeing or Social Care programmes. From there, they may be referred to 1:1 sessions on household budgeting: our Advice Team can support them with debt management and access to benefits. Then, they might access Learning courses: gaining new skills which lead to better-paid work. All through the gateway of using the Foodbank to get emergency groceries.
We help 3,500 people a year, plus their families, to withstand crises and make lasting changes to their lives. Due to the cost-of-living crisis - following the ravages of the Covid 19 pandemic - the need for our services is increasing. People already amongst the most challenged are being hit the hardest and being driven to crisis point.
Funding our services is harder than ever before. Please help us so we can continue changing – even saving – lives.
