Kittens saved after being rejected by mum
Four kittens rejected by their mum have been hand-reared at Blue Cross and found loving homes.
Widget, Gidget, Tiddles and Wiggles were born in the care of our Bromsgrove rehoming centre near Birmingham in September after their mum Gracie arrived as a stray.
Animal Welfare Assistant, Amy Neale, explains: “She had been hanging for around a year with a family feeding her. They then grew concerned when they suspected she was pregnant.

“Unable to take her in due to having cats of their own, they reached out to us for help. As soon as she arrived with us, it was clear how friendly and sociable she was, and she settled in well.”

Karma's fortunes turned around
Hours away from giving birth, Karma found herself in desperate need of a roof over her head.
The Staffordshire bull terrier’s owner was in a race against time to make sure her much-loved pet was in a safe place for labour, as she was sadly no longer able to keep her.
Thankfully, she brought 18-month-old Karma to our Victoria animal hospital in central London for the urgent vet care she needed, and she gave birth to eight puppies just five hours later.

UK's loneliest degu finds love
A downhearted degu has found a new soulmate after an appeal to find the lonely rodent a match.
Three-year-old Greg sadly lost his best friend Charlie shortly after arriving at our Burford rehoming centre in Oxfordshire in November, plunging him into depression.
Degus are sociable creatures who need the company of their own kind, so our team quickly tried to match Greg with another degu to enjoy sand baths with.
