Bloody Good Period

Bloody Good Period fights for menstrual equity and the rights of all people who bleed. We give period products to those who can't afford them, and provide menstrual education to those less likely to access it. And we help everybody talk about periods.

About us

Bloody Good Period was founded by Gabby Edlin in 2016 with a simple but powerful vision: to ensure that no one is held back because of their period. What began as a whip-round amongst friends has grown into a leading charity committed to achieving menstrual equity through the provision of period products, education and advocacy. We’re here to make sure no one is left behind just because they bleed and to create a society where periods are no longer a source of shame or disadvantage, but a normal, supported part of life.

We are partnered with 100+ community organisations across England and Wales, who help us distribute thousands of free period products to women and people who menstruate and help them to have bloody good periods.

The need is urgent and ongoing:

🩸 2 in 5 women and people who menstruate are struggling to access period products 🩸 30% are choosing between period products and essentials like food, rent, or energy bills 🩸 42% report feeling embarrassed about their period (Source: Aldi x Bloody Good Period, 2025)

Alongside the provision of period products we also deliver menstrual health education sessions for refugee and asylum-seeking communities, helping them to understand more about their bodies, sexual and reproductive health. We also run Bloody Good Employers - a workplace programme which empowers employers to improve their culture, communications and policies around menstruation.
