The Big Give Christmas Challenge is now LIVE!

Today is the day - The Big Give Christmas Challenge is live! 💫

For one week only, all donations will be DOUBLED when you donate via The Big Give.

We are fundraising to help young Ethiopians save for their future through our Village Savings and Loans Groups. By making a small monthly deposit, rural beekeepers can be part of a group where they are able to take out low-interest loans to grow their businesses.

With your donations, we will train 240 young families to start beekeeping and set up 12 more Village Savings & Loans Groups.

About us

Bees for Development is the global charity which makes life better with bees. We promote sustainable beekeeping to combat poverty, build resilient livelihoods and benefit biodiversity.

We all get so much from bees as they pollinate food crops and wild plants. Honey bees enable people to make a living through working with nature, harvesting honey and beeswax, while helping to preserve biodiversity. Beekeeping is low cost, sustainable, and has the greatest effect on those who have the very least.

Bees for Development shares beekeeping skills with people in the poorest communities of the world, giving a reliable, sustainable income for life. We use local skills, local materials and local bees. We deliver practical community-based projects to change people’s lives for the better. We do this working together with local partners and people who share our objectives and have the right levels of expertise.

Our information and education programme reaches beekeepers worldwide through a portfolio of knowledge services accessible through our Resource Centre.

We were founded in 1993 and are based in Monmouth, Wales in the UK.
