About us
Age UK Merton has been supporting older people in the borough since 1950. We have a passion for making Merton a great place to grow old and helping people to love their later life.
We have a welcoming activity centre in Mitcham which offers a programme of social gatherings and weekly clubs such as craft, yoga, scrabble, tea dances and much more. We encourage older people to socialise and offer a freshly cooked lunch Mon-Fri. We provide an at home service across the borough helping people to feel comfortable safe and secure at home. We help with cooking, cleaning, shopping and other tasks in the home. We offer befrienders to the most socially isolated and assist people with long term health conditions. We offer information and advice covering a wide range of topics such as care, pensions, welfare benefits, housing and much more.
Last year we supported over 3,000 older people across the borough and we intend to help even more this year. We often receive feedback on the impact our services have on our clients lives.
