Action Against Hunger

Action Against Hunger is building a world where no one dies from hunger. Life-threatening hunger is predictable, preventable and treatable, so a world without it is possible. We tackle it where it hits and lead research to stop it. We work relentlessly to save lives and create a world free from hunger.

About us

At all times, our aim is to save the lives of vulnerable people affected by hunger.

Action Against Hunger is building a world where no one dies from hunger. Because life-threatening hunger is predictable, preventable and treatable, so a world without it is possible.

We work with families and communities so they can build a better future for themselves – safe in the knowledge they can provide their children with enough healthy, nutritious food.

We tackle it where it hits and lead research to stop it. We work relentlessly to save lives and create a world free from hunger.

Six weeks to save a life!

Our teams are experts at tackling the effects of hunger across the world. Our approach is so effective that in the course of an average six-week treatment programme – which costs just £42 – we’re able to get young children with severe acute malnutrition firmly back on a path of recovery and also ensure healthy feeding and hygiene practices at home.

In 2022, we reached 28 million people in 55 countries worldwide. Our achievements include: screening 3.1 million children for malnutrition responding to 46 emergencies in 34 countries giving 6.8 million people clean water and safe toilets reaching 4.4 million people with our food security and livelihoods programmes providing 969,000 people mental health support
