Displaying your Commercial Participation Statement
Once you have created your Commercial Participation Agreement with your chosen charity, as part of the Commercial Participation Terms and in line with charity law, you must add a Commercial Participation statement at the point of sale (e.g. on the product page of your website). This statement must match the information you entered on the donation form and should mention that the campaign is being facilitated via Work for Good.
To make this easy, Work for Good generates this statement for you when you create your agreement. On the confirmation screen after you have created your agreement, you will be given a Commercial Participation Statement for your campaign, which will also be sent to you by email. You can see a template statement below, and how your personalised statement will appear on the website when you set up your donation.
(insert £/% amount) of (every sale OR the specific product or service sale which was stated) will be donated to (insert name of charity) via Work for Good.
It should look something like the below image, when you add it to your website.
You can link the 'via Work for Good' portion of the statement to your profile page to clearly show your customers that you have the correct legal agreement set up with the charity.
NB. The commercial participation statement is a necessary step to keep your business compliant, it's also a great way to let your customers or clients know how you're raising money and who for, which will hopefully encourage more sales and help you raise more funds for your chosen charity.
