Our purpose
At Work for Good we help charities create a sustainable income stream and save thousands of pounds in legal costs and time, by making sales fundraising (otherwise known as cause-related marketing) easy and possible.
We do this through our online fundraising platform which helps charities better manage and track the fantastic fundraising campaigns of their business supporters who use Work for Good to create the legal agreements required to be able to fundraise through the sales of their products and services.
Since launching in 2018 we’ve helped raise over £2.5m for charity, grown our community to almost 5,000 businesses and charities including over 50 of the top 100 most loved charity brands and educated thousands of people on the power and impact of sales fundraising.
How you can help
We’re already helping over 1,250 charities to improve their sales fundraising capacity and have earned a reputation across the sector for our easy to use platform, user-led approach and charity and small business industry experience.
You will be joining the organisation at a really exciting time for sales fundraising. Charities are keen to develop the ways they work with businesses to diversify their income streams and you will be pivotal in building relationships and account managing our charity members. You will have ownership of a large number of accounts managed by fundraising professionals across the sector.
Working alongside the Charity Engagement Manager and wider Work for Good team, you will drive brand and product awareness with our charity members, supporting them to grow sales fundraising within their charities and as a sustainable income stream across the sector.
Day to day, you will
- Manage the full cycle of a large number of charity member accounts including onboarding, activation, engagement and retention
- Verify and onboard new charities assisting them with setting up their profiles and helping them to understand and maximise the sales fundraising opportunity
- Activate charities by closely supporting fundraisers to help them get their sales fundraising processes set up across their internal teams, providing tools and excellent support to do this
- Regularly engage charity members through calls, emails and newsletters building rapport and ensuring sales fundraising becomes and remains core to their fundraising strategies
- Manage the charity general enquiry inboxes including responding to all incoming enquiries, updating account details, fixing issues and providing all round excellent customer service
- Monitor and report on all aspects of customer service satisfaction, identifying and addressing pinch points and barriers to activation
- Have autonomy to build your own relationships, cross sector partners and explore new opportunities
- Collaborate with Work for Good team (across product, marketing, social media and business) on projects as required

If this is sounding good, here are some of the key skills and behaviors we’re looking for (remember you don’t have to tick all of these!)
- Proven track record of excellent account management
- Ability to managing an extensive pipeline of charity members
- Confidence in successfully activating members with a clear understanding of how to build rapport, convert interest and manage relationships at all levels
- Proficient in working with a CRM database and administratively managing a pipeline - we currently use Streak but will be moving to Salesforce
- Keen interest and understanding of the impact sales fundraising, and subsequently the Commercial Participation solution Work for Good provides for charities, can have for significant income growth
- Willingness to work hard, flexibly and proactively to drive growth
- A self-motivated, resilient, creative individual who will thrive in a dynamic, progressive environment and is capable of working effectively autonomously and within a team;
- Enjoys collaboration, is a team player motivated to support and learn from others but can also think strategically, will challenge and help us evolve by bringing new ideas and spotting opportunities.
- Preferably 2 years’ charity sector experience ideally within at least one of the following teams: corporate fundraising, community fundraising, supporter care, new partnerships, business development; or if not in the charity sector within another account management role
- Good general knowledge and understanding of the not-for-profit sector
