Young readers impress another ambassador!

Young readers impress another ambassador!

I can't decide what I love most about these pictures - the honour of having Carin Lobbezoo, Ambassador of Embassy of the Netherlands in Kosovo to see reading and pre-school activities at The Ideas Partnership's centre in Fushe Kosove, or the evidence that when you're a child reading a great book, you don't get distracted by a visitor, even when she's an Ambassador! So grateful for the kind support of the Ambassador and her team.

Our new project supporting Kosovo's returnee recyclers: transforming their lives, as they transform the local environment.

We have started a new project supporting Kosovo's returnee recyclers: transforming their lives, as they transform the local environment.

This project aims to support those of the Roma, Ashkali, and Egyptian communities who have been forced to return to Kosovo, and their neighbors, who depend on rubbish picking for their livelihoods.

The recyclers will be trained on the safest and most effective ways of recycling waste and one of the aims of this project is to achieve a reduction in the amount of recyclable plastic and metal waste going to landfills in Fushe Kosova municipality.

We’re also going to build awareness of the importance of waste separation with households and local businesses.

This project is funded by the JAC Trust.
