About us

Our pets are much loved companions, best friends and family members but sadly, not all animals are treated with the love and care they deserve.

The RSPCA Halifax, Huddersfield, Bradford & District Branch is a self-funded local charity and part of a network of independent RSPCA branches. Our main aim is to care for the many abused and neglected animals in our area and find them new, loving homes.

We are proud to work alongside National RSPCA inspectors, whose job it is to rescue animals from distressful or severe situations and bring them in to our care. However, here at your local RSPCA Animal Centre on Wade Street, Halifax - our job is to rehabilitate and rehome the animals brought to us; providing medical care, food, rehabilitation, training, love and a safe place to be.

We have highly trained staff and volunteers that work with the animals every day to make sure they are fit and well enough to be adopted. We also offer advice and help people in our community that may be struggling with their pets too. Its costs over £1,000,000 to keep our Animal Centre running, so your support is very important to us! Generating the funds needed for our work activities is an enormous challenge every year and we are very thankful to you for helping us!

To succeed in our goal, we rely on our amazing community to help us maintain the level of care we provide and to keep the doors of our centre open. Whether that’s by making a donation, volunteering, fostering or adopting, the support we receive helps provide our animals with vital care, treatment and attention and the best chance to find them the loving, forever homes all of our animals truly deserve.
