Roots4Life charity improves social welfare mainly but not exclusively in the areas of food insecurity and social isolation. Theses problems are greater in areas of poverty and lead to increased levels of chronic health conditions and disease. We are currently delivering meals to vulnerable people who have limited access to food in the wake of Covid-19.

About us

Did you know that obesity is currently a greater burden on the UK government than armed violence, war and terror, costing nearly £47billion per year?

Did you know that over 8.4 million people in the UK struggle get enough to eat every day?

Did you know that loneliness can be as harmful as smoking 15 cigarettes per day?

Roots4Life is a new charity who are going to help people to build foundations that will enable them to live healthier and happier lives. We will be based from a community centre and grounds in New Eltham, Greenwich where we will provide a variety of programmes using the centre, such as ‘Healthy Eating on a Budget’ lessons, community supper clubs, gardening and growing projects, forest school clubs, fitness classes and mental health support groups.

Covid-19 has seen a rise in food insecurity and social isolation. To combat this the charity is currently delivering meals to vulnerable and shielding people in the borough.
