“Road crashes are the number 1 killer of 16-25 year olds in the UK. The aim of The Honest Truth is to reduce the number of people killed or seriously injured on our roads through education.” Assistant Chief Constable Jim Nye, Chair of Trustees Our method is to work with a network of Approved Driving Instructors across the UK sharing The Honest Truth’s unique intervention, coupling behavioural psychology with the innovative use of animal heads typifying risky behaviours, to deliver our key messages. Young people are extremely receptive to information shared by their driving instructor. This method will allow us to reach high-risk young people via guided discussion with their instructor, website and handouts. We also provide educational materials for parents, and campaigns targeting young drivers and other road users. Our vision is to prevent families, friends and communities from ever having to experience the devastation of losing a loved one on our roads. Our mission is to develop the best road safety education resources for young learner drivers and their parents delivered through a large network of driving instructors and road safety organisations. Our aim is to challenge and change all road users’ behaviours to reduce the risk of them harming themselves and/or others on our roads. Our promise is to always tell the truth and deliver our message in a positive manner, one that leaves everyone better informed and feeling positive about everything we are trying to achieve - that’s The Honest Truth.
