About us

Street Connect as a christian charity exists to offer hope and opportunity of recovery and change to the disadvantaged and marginalised in society, primarily here in our local communities in Scotland. We work to support men and women who are 18 years and over. The individuals we work with come with a range of complex issues including: drugs and alcohol addictions, homelessness, loneliness and social isolation, poor mental health, trauma, offending and poverty among others. Our hope is that through the various services we provide, they will feel supported, motivated and able to take positive steps towards a brighter and more fulfilling future.

The National Records of Scotland 2018 latest available figures show there were 1187 drug related deaths in Scotland, 253 (27%) more than in 2017. This was the largest number ever recorded, and 613 (107%) higher than the figure for 2008, which was 574. The figures also highlight a horrific number, with 1136 alcohol specific deaths. Street Connect is committed through our various services that these figures are continually reversed; that we no longer hear stories of individuals having been bound by drugs or alcohol for 20 years, 10 years. We offer one-to-one support, drop-in-cafes, residential rehab referrals, community recovery groups and aftercare support.

You can help by choosing to support us:

•£1000 could contribute towards the costs of purchasing our next move-on flat to help people who have been through rehabilitation return to the community

•£500 could provide the support needed to get someone off the streets, off drugs and transform their life once and for all

•£75 could allow 1 person to attend our community recovery programme for 1 month

•£50 could provide 5 intensive support sessions to help someone prepare for rehab

•£25 could provide a sleeping bag and mat for someone sleeping rough

•£10 could provide a One-to-One support session for someone in need of support

Together with your support, Street Connect is here for every individual that requires our help today and in the future.
