Glasgow Care Foundation was established in 1874, before the NHS and the Welfare State were established, with the purpose of supporting the poorest people of Glasgow. Fast forward to now and our ambition is still the same! To alleviate poverty. We provide basic household items to vulnerable adults and families across Glasgow who otherwise would go without.

Happy Easter, Thanks to First People Solutions!

The lovely people at First People Solutions donated a bunch of Easter eggs to give to some of the children we work with. They managed to collect a total of 79 eggs!! How amazing. We are extremely grateful, and appreciative of their kindness. Most of children take for granted receiving a chocolate egg on Easter, but for some families the pennies don't stretch that far. You have just made a huge bunch of kids a whole lot happier this Easter. Thank you!

About us

Glasgow Care Foundation is the oldest charity in Glasgow. We often describe ourselves as a small charity doing big things for Glasgow. When we say small, what we really mean is lean, you see we don't spend a lot of our money on employing a large team of people. Instead we aim to put as much of our funds back into helping poorer citizens of Glasgow to lift themselves out of poverty.

The money we raise goes to providing practical items, that many of us take for granted, to vulnerable adults and families across Glasgow. For example, thanks to the donations we have received we were able to provide a young teenage single mother with a 13 month old child a new cot and mattress which could be converted to a toddlers bed in the future. She had to move from her family home because it was overcrowded and wasn't financially stable enough to afford a cot for her child. The government sources refused to provide assistance so she was running out of options. So, we stepped in to offer our assistance. Such small acts of kindness have a massive impact on the lives of others, particularly those who have nowhere else to turn to.

In order to continue our fight against poverty we rely completely on the kindness and generosity of others. Without our supporters we could not continue to do, the work that we do. The more supporters we gain, the more people we can help.
