About us

We offer high school scholarships to deserving students, with leadership potential, who do not have the means to attend a school where they will flourish.

Your kindness can help them start a new life.

The KMF was founded 22 years ago by Richard Mason. Every scholar has gone on to do wonderful and impressive things - from becoming Fullbright scholars to going to work at McKinsey. The Kay Mason Foundation is unlike most scholarship funds.

We look at both the academic and personal potential of the candidate and support them in both areas for the duration of their schooling.

We’ve identified the top schools around South Africa and match the right learner with the right institute so that their experience is rewarding in all aspects.

We are proud of the learners who have passed through the Kay Mason Foundation program, excelling and developing as people along the way.

Watching our graduates begin to give back themselves later in life is additional reward.

Watch the video and meet the team who run the programme as well as some of the KMF Junior scholars in the Junior programme classrooms.
